I am interested in mosaic as an ancient artistic technique and am seeking to use traditional craft in a contemporary way.
I mainly use opus-sectile technique, which is based on larger pieces of material cut in geometric shapes or figures to produce an image or pattern. Simple, repetitive patterns used in series help me explore and play with colours and their composition.
During my master studies in contemporary art in Spain (Universitat de Barcelona) I worked in a mosaic workshop in Barcelona where I started to learn about traditional mosaic making techniques.
